I love wedding and portrait photography because it allows me the opportunity to meet and photograph amazing people. Everyone has their own story, their own experiences, and I strive to make images that reflect the authentic and unique nature of each person. Whether I document an important day in a couple’s life, record a new addition to a growing family, or photograph a young adult about to leave home, I look to capture the emotions within the moment and to create lasting images. Photographing a wedding or taking a portrait is an honor and I feel blessed and privileged that I get to work with incredible people and be a part of so many important milestones and events. I also feel very proud to be a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association and to be recognized for creating photojournalistic images that capture candid and unscripted moments.

 In my free time I like to travel and spend time with my husband Cory and my dog Hector—they are both frequent models for me, and are test dummies whenever I come up with a new idea or find a new technique I want to try. I also spend my free time getting to know and love my new home of Lansing, MI. I am a devotee to the DIY movement and love to knit, sew, and craft.
